Ron Lee Homes Hosts Field Trip for MAGIC Camp 2010!

Ron Lee Homes and Hearthstone Homes by Ron Lee hosted the 2010 MAGIC Camp field trip at their new custom home in Covington, LA, and also a new completed custom home at Terra Bella in St. Tammany Parish. Nancy Lee taught the girls about customization of a home, the features of a custom home, and how much a home is valued and worth. The high school girls that attended MAGIC Camp 2010, a camp put on by NAWIC Northshore Chapter #339 in St. Tammany Parish learned about painting, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing on their field trip.

Ron Lee Homes is building a custom home in Covington, LA, and this year's MAGIC Camp 2010 visited the location as well as a completed custom home built by Ron Lee for their Field Trip day on the last day of the camp. MAGIC (Mentoring a Girl in Construction) Camp is a free, week-long camp that is produced by NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Northshore Chapter #339 and Louisiana Technical College Region 1 Slidell Instructional Service Center. MAGIC Camp is attended by high school age girls that are interested in a potential career in construction. During the week of camp, the girls are taught skills such as carpentry, painting, welding, plumbing, and electrical services. The end of the week is reserved for a very special field trip to view all of these skills in one setting.

At the home built by Ron Lee Homes, a new home builder in St. Tammany Parish, the girls were shown examples of carpentry and painting and then toured the home under construction to find out more about electrical and plumbing. The girls were also taken to a completed custom home built by Hearthstone Home by Ron Lee, located at Terra Bella, the only Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) in Covington, Louisiana, St. Tammany Parish.
