Ticket to Paradise $10,000 Raffle Party
The Castine Center 63350 Pelican Boulevard Mandeville, LA 70448-7326
As a nonprofit organization, the St. Tammany West Chamber is funded by the dues of its 1,000-plus members. Fundraisers also are a vital part of our existence and their success enables us to sustain the programs and services we provide to the business community. The $10,000 Raffle Party is the premier annual fundraiser for the chamber, and it will take place on Aug. 14 at the Castine Center. "Tickets to Paradise" are now available and can be purchased from any chamber board member or at the chamber office. This will be the sixth annual Raffle Party held at the Castine Center. Tickets are expected to go quickly, as only 600 will be sold. For each $125 ticket donation, two guests will enjoy food served by local restaurants, wine, beer and musical entertainment by local favorite Four Unplugged. Attendees are invited to wear their favorite tropical attire and join in the festivities from 7-11 p.m. The highlight of the evening will be the drawing for the big $10,000 prize. However, ticket holders do not need to be present to win. This year's energetic Raffle Party chairman is Amy Edwards, who has done a wonderful job of leading the efforts for this event. Sponsorships are still available. Whether or not you take home the grand prize money, you'll still enjoy an evening of dining and dancing for only $62.50 per person. Plus, your ticket price is going toward the operational expenses of the chamber, which is committed to the success, support and advocacy of local businesses. For more information on the chamber or to buy a ticket to the Raffle Party, visit us at www.sttammanychamber.org or call 892.3216. Lacey Toledano is the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce's President and CEO. She can be contacted at info@sttammanychamber.org

Southern Living Presents the 2010 Louisiana Idea House at Terra Bella
Terra Bella, Covington, Louisiana, St. Tammany Parish
On Saturday's between June 12th and September 12th, Terra Bella will have an open house for the 2010 Louisiana Idea House for Southern Living. Harkening back to quaint, coastal cottages that took root in the Deep South, our Bayou Bend Idea House, located in Covington, Louisiana, displays a pleasing mix of Creole and Craftsman details. Along it’s front, four tapered, stucco piers rise to support scroll-cut beams and an upper porch. Enhanced with exposed rafter tails and evenly spaced clusters of slender, square columns, the upper porch services the upstairs bedroom level. Bayou Bend also includes a detached garage with living space above, resembling a bygone carriage house.
